Unlike traditional sectors, the digital economy offers unique opportunities not bound by physical constraints or traditional gender roles. With the proliferation of digital technologies such as mobile phones, internet connectivity, and digital platforms, women in the Global South now possess unprecedented access to new avenues for economic empowerment and social inclusion.

The burgeoning digital economy presents a beacon of hope for bridging the gender gap by providing women with opportunities to overcome traditional barriers to economic participation. Through online platforms and digital marketplaces, women can engage in entrepreneurship, freelancing, and remote work, circumventing challenges like geographical limitations and lack of access to capital or resources.
